HUB learning content uses a blended learning approach, providing a facilitator-led digital learning experience.

HUB modules are designed in a transformative learning methodology grounded in anti-oppression, cultural safety, and trauma-informed frameworks. These frameworks are the foundation of all HUB programming and are at the core of the HUB’s facilitator training.

Our modules build key 21st century competencies for youth.

This module initiates a process of self-reflection and resilience with the ultimate goal of moving closer to a new “best self.” The module explores and builds on self-esteem, core beliefs, values, and strengths, and makes sense of how these elements impact behaviours and relationships.

This module outlines the concept of spending money in a thoughtful manner by making wise choices about how money is used. Youth are encouraged to reflect on whether their values align with their spending habits. This module strongly emphasizes a critical review of thoughtful and impulsive spending, while promoting money-saving strategies that can help stabilize one’s financial situation and reduce overspending.

This module invites participants to explore the attitudes of mindfulness and look at the tendency for humans to pay more attention or give more weight to negative experiences over neutral or positive experiences (negativity bias). Participants are guided through a Taking in the Awesome practice to help prime their minds to take in the good and increase their positive to negative affect ratio.
