This workshop explores the history and work of White Ribbon and introduces approaches to building allyship: understanding emotions, healthy masculinities, identifying one’s power and privilege, consent, ways to intervene when violence occurs, and how to be a positive role model to other male-identified youth/adults. We will focus on ways to engage men and boys in these conversations in strength-based approaches that support openness, learning and acceptance.
This workshop highlights the ongoing efforts of the Community Learning HUB to combat gender-based violence. This webinar will conclude with a brief overview of the Moving Toward Harmony series, a 9 part program that seeks to teach youth about healthy and unhealthy relationships, boundary setting, and reducing violence against women and girls.
