Session 2: Principles of Universal Design

In this workshop, participants will build off the principles of anti-oppression and put their knowledge into practice. Through the framework of Universal Design for Learning(UDL), participants will gain a deeper understanding of considerations required to build inclusive working communities. Participants will also uncover the benefits and drawbacks of UDL to support the effective design and delivery of programs and services to diverse audiences.
Sheliza Jamal is the founder of Curated Leadership, a coaching firm that fosters partnerships with leadership teams, nonprofits, and corporations to develop their knowledge in the areas of equity and diversity to build inclusive communities. Sheliza is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is currently completing her PhD at OISE, University of Toronto in the Department of Social Justice Education.
